Stopped by to this big diner with a decent size parking lot & easy access from highway. Recently moved here & gave their dinner a try. First of all, our waitress, Chevy did an amazing job. Her name not only is awesome (amazing car brand), but her sweetness & attentive was beyond superior. Bright smile, great conversation, amazing service. The food was really good. Got the BBQ sauce burger which was cooked the way I want it to and was juicy all around with a good side of crunchy fries. The cookies & cream ice cream was so good, creamy & soft- the whip cream & sauce made it top tier. Overall, great experience with prices that serves well with the food quality & service we receive. Thank you again.

My coworkers and I go out for breakfast after we get done with work on occasion and we came upon the Capital Diner, with high hopes and empty stomachs. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash with eggs and two others ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs. No one said anything. We were too busy stuffing our faces. The food is delicious and it’s also affordable and not over priced like many places nowadays. Service is friendly and always smiling. We will make the Capital Diner a permanent spot in our rotation for breakfast.

I have been here a couple times in the past but more recently on a Thursday morning in March for a breakfast meeting. My coworkers already had a table when I arrived, water and coffee came shortly after I joined them. I ordered a heart healthy omelet with rye toast and a side of cottage cheese. I wasn’t sure I liked cottage cheese but it was good and the server brought me some apple butter to go with it. The omelet was ok by itself , it was better sandwiches in the toast. Our server was friendly and attentive. I think she had been my server at a previous visit, I remembered her pleasant personality. Work paid for this meal but the prices looked fine to me. The decor is cool. It’s got an old school diner vibe but looks modern. The location is easy to get to from the highway and there is plenty of parking.

Stopped by Capitol Diner in Harrisburg. I’m a fan of retro diners and Capitol Diner is definitely one to check out if you’re in town. Friendly & attentive customer service at the counter. They have booth and bar seating. The parking lot had plenty of spaces even though it was busy. I sat at the bar & ordered their famous liver & onions which came with a salad, crab soup side, baked potato. The sides were great- baked potato was piping hot, salad was crisp & fresh, crab soup was creamy with lumps of crab meat. I ordered their liver well done. The liver & onions was drenched in a brown gravy that was a little salty. I preferred skimming off the gravy & just eating the liver & onions. Large portions! They accept cards & cash.

It's been 5 years since I've been to Capitol Diner so I wanted to write an updated review. I'm blown away by how clean this restaurant is. It has a typical diner style with stainless steel accents. The service is quick, and pleasant and the food is good. If you're in the area you should definitely check them out.
